Where to Find the Plugin Settings
After installing and activating the plugin, go to:
WooCommerce → Address Guard
The plugin settings are organized into several tabs:
- Dashboard — overview of plugin status, providers, setup health, and recent activity.
- Providers — configure autocomplete and validation providers.
- Checkout — control checkout validation, autocomplete, and checkout actions.
- Rules — create rules for missing house numbers, PO boxes, postcode mismatches, and other address issues.
- Messages — customize messages shown to customers.
- Tester — test an address and see how Address Guard will handle it.
- Logs — view privacy-safe validation and provider logs.
- License — activate and manage your plugin license.
Basic Setup Steps
- Activate your license from the License tab.
- Go to the Providers tab.
- Choose an autocomplete provider, such as Google Places.
- Choose a validation provider, such as Google Address Validation.
- Add your provider API credentials.
- Test the provider connections.
- Go to the Checkout tab.
- Enable checkout validation and address autocomplete.
- Choose whether failed addresses should show a warning or block checkout.
- Go to the Rules tab and create any additional address rules you need.
Recommended First Configuration
For most stores, a good starting setup is:
- Autocomplete provider: Google Places
- Validation provider: Google Address Validation
- Checkout action: Warn customer
- Validate shipping address: Enabled
- Validate billing address: Optional
- Logs: Enabled
- Missing house number rule: Enabled
- Invalid postcode/country rule: Enabled
After confirming that the plugin works correctly for your checkout flow, you can switch stricter rules to Block checkout if needed.
