Configuring Address Providers

Address Guard Pro uses address providers to power autocomplete and validation features.

You can choose separate providers for:

  • Autocomplete — suggests addresses while customers type.
  • Validation — checks whether the entered address appears valid before checkout.

This lets you use one service for address suggestions and another service for address verification.

Opening Provider Settings

Go to:

WooCommerce → Address Guard → Providers

The Providers tab includes:

  • Autocomplete provider
  • Validation provider
  • Provider API credentials
  • Provider preferences
  • Provider testing buttons

Autocomplete Provider

The autocomplete provider suggests addresses while customers type in the checkout address field.

Supported autocomplete providers may include:

  • Google Places
  • Mapbox Address Autofill
  • Loqate Address Capture

Choose the provider you want to use from the Autocomplete provider dropdown.

Validation Provider

The validation provider checks the address before checkout is completed.

Supported validation providers may include:

  • Google Address Validation
  • Loqate Address Verify

Choose the provider from the Validation provider dropdown.

API Credentials

Most providers require merchant-owned API credentials.

Address Guard Pro does not include bundled API usage. You need to create your own account with the selected provider and enter the API key in the Providers tab.

Saved API keys are masked after reload. If you see a masked value such as dots, it means a key is already saved.

To replace a saved key, enter a new key and save the settings.

Provider Preferences

The Providers tab may include these options:

Autocomplete Countries

Use this field to limit or bias address suggestions to selected countries.

Example:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany

If a customer has already selected a checkout country, Address Guard Pro uses the selected checkout country as the main autocomplete context.

Validation Fallback Country

This is used only when an address does not include a country.

For example, if your store mainly ships from Germany, you may choose Germany as the fallback country.

Provider Region

Some providers support a regional preference. Leave this as Auto / Not set unless your provider requires a specific value.

Testing Providers

Use the provider test buttons to check whether your credentials are working:

  • Test autocomplete provider
  • Test validation provider

If the test succeeds, the provider is configured correctly.

If the test fails, check:

  • The API key is correct.
  • The required API is enabled in your provider account.
  • Billing is active if required by the provider.
  • The selected provider supports your country.
