The Checkout tab controls how Address Guard Pro works during WooCommerce checkout.
Go to:
WooCommerce → Address Guard → Checkout
From this tab, you can enable checkout validation, enable address autocomplete, choose whether shipping and billing addresses are checked, and decide what happens when an address fails validation.
Checkout Integration
The Checkout integration section controls whether Address Guard Pro runs during checkout.
Enable Checkout Validation
Enable this option to allow Address Guard Pro to validate addresses before the order is placed.
When enabled, the plugin can check the customer’s address using your selected validation provider and your local address rules.
Checkout Compatibility
Address Guard Pro supports:
- WooCommerce Checkout Blocks
- Classic WooCommerce checkout shortcode
The Checkout tab shows the detected checkout type so you can confirm which checkout experience your store is using.
Address Autocomplete
The Address autocomplete section controls address suggestions during checkout.
Enable Address Autocomplete
Enable this option to show address suggestions while customers type.
Autocomplete can be applied to:
- Shipping address
- Billing address
Minimum Characters Before Search
This controls how many characters the customer must type before address suggestions are requested.
Recommended value:
3
This prevents unnecessary provider requests and keeps the checkout experience smoother.
Autocomplete Countries
Use this option to limit or bias autocomplete suggestions to selected countries.
If the customer has already selected a checkout country, that country is used as the main autocomplete context.
Address Behavior
The Address behavior section controls which addresses are validated.
Validate Shipping Address
Enable this if your store ships physical products.
This is the recommended setting for most stores.
Validate Billing Address
Enable this if your store also needs to check billing addresses.
This can be useful for stores that need accurate billing details, but it may not be necessary for every store.
Allow Customer to Continue with Unverified Address
If enabled, customers may continue when validation cannot fully verify the address.
Use this when you want to avoid blocking legitimate customers because of provider uncertainty.
Checkout Action
The Checkout action controls what happens when an address fails validation.
Warn Customer
Shows a warning but allows the customer to continue.
Recommended when first enabling the plugin.
Block Checkout
Prevents the customer from placing the order until the address is corrected or verified.
Recommended only after you have tested your rules and provider behavior.
Recommended Setup
For most stores:
- Enable checkout validation: On
- Enable address autocomplete: On
- Apply autocomplete to shipping address: On
- Validate shipping address: On
- Validate billing address: Off
- Checkout action: Warn customer
Once you are confident the plugin is working correctly, you can enable stricter blocking rules.
