Choose a header or footer
- Go to Appearance → Editor and select the header or footer on any template.
- In the toolbar, choose Replace.
- Pick a design and save.
Replace inserts the design fresh, with Formafern’s own menu. If you’ve edited your menu, choose it again in the new header’s Navigation block.
Headers
All three headers stay at the top of the screen while visitors scroll. On phones, each has a menu button that opens the menu in a drawer, and a full-width product search under the logo that tucks away while scrolling.
| Header | Layout |
|---|---|
| Header (default) | One slim row: the logo, the menu in the middle, then product search, account and bag |
| Header, centred logo | The menu on the left, the logo in the centre, and search, account and bag on the right, for a boutique look |
| Header, two rows | A product search field, the centred logo, and account and bag on the first row, with the full menu across a second row. Suits larger catalogs |

Footers
| Footer | Layout |
|---|---|
| Footer (default) | Deep moss: a short brand statement and social links, then Shop, Customer care and About columns, then the copyright and legal links |
| Footer, light | Pale linen: an invitation to read the Journal, then the brand, the same three columns, the copyright and legal links. Add your newsletter service’s form block to the invitation if you have one |
| Footer, minimal | One quiet row: the site name, a few key links, the copyright and legal links |
Edit the logo, menu and announcement bar
- Logo: select the Site Logo block in the header and upload your logo. Without one, the site title is shown.
- Menu: select the Navigation block in the header to edit its links or choose another menu. Formafern’s menu is a Shop menu of categories, then Living Room, Bedroom, Dining, Lighting, Décor and Collections. Its links find your categories, rooms and pages by slug, and go to the shop when there’s no match. They follow your store by themselves until you edit and save the header (or replace it); from then on they stay as saved, so check them after you add categories, rooms or pages.
- Announcement bar: the slim strip above the header is for a seasonal collection, showroom news or a promotion you run. Edit its text under Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Template parts → Announcement bar, or delete the block to hide it.
- Social links: add your profile URLs to the Social Icons block in the footer. Icons without a URL aren’t shown.
Footer links
The footer’s columns link to your own pages, found by slug:
| Column | Links |
|---|---|
| Shop | Product categories: sofas, lounge-chairs, coffee-tables, storage, lighting, rugs, home-decor |
| Customer care | Pages delivery-returns, care-guide and contact, and your account |
| About | Pages about, materials and collections, and the Journal (your posts page, or a page with the slug journal) |
The legal line links your privacy policy and terms and conditions pages when they’re set, and your delivery-returns page.
A page that doesn’t exist yet links to your homepage (a missing category, to the shop), so publish your pages with these slugs, or edit the links in the footer. Like the menu, the links follow your store by themselves until you edit and save the footer.
Checkout header and footer
Checkout has its own quiet header (the logo and a link back to the bag) and footer (help, delivery and returns, and privacy links), so nothing distracts from paying. Edit them under Appearance → Editor → Patterns.
