Both products can calculate and present Australia Post shipping services at WooCommerce cart and checkout. The differences sit in which account types feed those rates, which extras appear, and how packaging changes the quote.

WPRuby

Pro quotes public Australia Post services from destination, weight, dimensions and packaging. You can show eligible domestic and international options, rename services, add a handling fee or discount, and optionally show only the cheapest rate. Domestic delivery-time text can be appended where configured. International delivery times are not displayed. MyPost Business is the account type most small and growing Australian stores actually use. The plugins both advertise MyPost support, but the connection and fulfilment paths are not the same.

How WPRuby supports MyPost Business

Labels Pro connects a MyPost Business account in Australia Post Centre. Merchants typically use Connect with MyPost (OAuth) so a merchant token is loaded, or paste and verify a token. After the account is connected, checkout can use postage products returned for that account, shipments are created from the WooCommerce order, labels are paid and downloaded through Labels Orders, tracking is saved on the order, and supported MyPost pickups can be requested from Labels Orders. Pickup is not booked automatically when a label is created.

How ELEX supports MyPost Business

ELEX’s current MyPost Business documentation states that you must have a MyPost Business account and a ReachShip account. The WordPress.org premium feature list describes MyPost rates and print labels as powered by the ReachShip multi-carrier shipping platform. The ELEX product FAQ says a MyPost business account needs to be added to the ReachShip dashboard. Once configured, ELEX can show MyPost services, generate MyPost labels, create MyPost shipments in bulk, and offer pickup on the MyPost bulk shipments page—not on individual orders.

eParcel support

eParcel is the Australia Post contract path used by higher-volume merchants. Both plugins can use an eParcel account for contracted rates and labels, with different connection details and paperwork.

MyPost bulk shipment generation and pickup are documented in the premium MyPost workflow. Packing and parcel calculation

Packing changes both the checkout rate and the label. Neither approach is universally better; it depends on whether you ship in your own cartons, prepaid satchels, or one item per package.

WPRuby

Pro packs cart items with custom boxes before quoting, can quote eligible prepaid satchels, supports letters where the pack qualifies, and can ship designated products individually. A weight-influenced packing setting is available when dimensions should not dominate the quote. Labels Pro can create more than one shipment for an order.

ELEX

Premium packing options are individual item packing, pack into custom boxes with weights and dimensions, and weight-based packing against a maximum package weight. Group shipping can offer a better price when multiple products are packed individually. ELEX states satchel labels cannot be printed without a contract account.

Stores with a small set of real cartons often do well with custom-box packing in either plugin. Stores that sell many one-off SKUs may prefer individual packing. Satchel-heavy stores should confirm whether they need contract labels or checkout satchel quotes only.

International Australia Post shipping

Both plugins can quote international Australia Post services and print international labels when the right account and plan are in place. The gap is in customs paperwork and duty estimates.

WPRuby

Pro shows eligible international parcel and letter rates. Labels Pro adds customs item description, HS tariff code, country of origin, dangerous-goods information and landed-cost payer, then creates the international shipment. International delivery estimates are not displayed. The plugin does not calculate import duties and taxes.

ELEX

Premium supports international eParcel, StarTrack and MyPost services returned by those accounts. eParcel international documents include four copies. Product pages can store an HS tariff code. Combined Export can estimate duties and taxes. An import reference number can be added for EU shipments. ELEX also states IOSS / EU regulation support on the product FAQ.
