We’re excited to announce a major update to our Royal Mail WooCommerce plugin: support for Royal Mail Click & Drop integration.
This release replaces the older Royal Mail Labels API workflow with a more modern Click & Drop-based integration, making it easier for WooCommerce store owners to create and manage Royal Mail shipment orders from inside WordPress.
What is Royal Mail Click & Drop?
Royal Mail Click & Drop is Royal Mail’s online shipping and label management platform. It allows businesses to create shipment orders, manage parcel information, and prepare orders for dispatch.
With this new integration, our plugin now connects WooCommerce orders with Click & Drop, helping store owners reduce manual work and keep their shipping workflow more organised.
Create Click & Drop orders from WooCommerce
The biggest improvement in this release is the new Click & Drop order creation workflow.
The plugin can now prepare and send WooCommerce order data to Royal Mail Click & Drop, including the information needed to create shipment orders more accurately.
This includes support for:
- Customer shipping details
- Order item data
- Parcel dimensions
- Product variation metadata
- Order tags
- Customs-related fields
This is especially useful for stores that need a cleaner connection between WooCommerce and Royal Mail’s shipping tools.
Better support for customs data
International shipping often requires more detailed product and customs information.
This release adds support for customs-related fields in the Click & Drop integration, helping WooCommerce stores provide better shipment data when creating Royal Mail orders.
The plugin also improves how product variation metadata is handled, so shipment data can be more accurate when orders contain variable products.
Delete Click & Drop orders from WooCommerce
We’ve also added support for deleting Click & Drop orders directly from the WooCommerce admin.
This gives store owners more control when an order needs to be corrected, cancelled, or recreated.
Instead of switching between systems, you can manage more of the Click & Drop workflow from your WooCommerce dashboard.
New “Test Click & Drop connection” button
To make setup easier, this release includes a new Test Click & Drop connection button.
This helps you quickly check whether your Click & Drop API credentials are working before processing live orders.
We’ve also improved the settings descriptions and admin interface to make the Click & Drop setup clearer and easier to follow.
Improved order processing and logging
This update also improves the internal order processing flow for Click & Drop shipments.
We added logging support to make troubleshooting easier when something goes wrong with a shipment request or API connection.
This should make support cases easier to diagnose and give store owners a clearer path when checking integration issues.
Additional shipping rate fix
Alongside the Click & Drop work, this release also includes a fix for Evri shipping rates.
The plugin now handles non-array rate responses more safely and ensures valid shipping cost values are used when calculating Evri shipping rates.
What this means for store owners
This release is an important step forward for Royal Mail shipping inside WooCommerce.
With the new Click & Drop integration, store owners can:
- Create Click & Drop shipment orders from WooCommerce
- Send better parcel, product, and customs data
- Delete Click & Drop orders when needed
- Test the Click & Drop API connection from the settings page
- Troubleshoot issues more easily with improved logging
- Benefit from a cleaner and more consistent admin interface
